Your home.

Houses are alive

Here’s some back story. Before I was even a teenager, I had lived in over 20 houses. We were below the poverty line and were forever moving into cheaper houses or cheaper suburbs just trying to keep afloat. For a while we lived in a granny flat on someone’s property for nothing, courtesy of the kindness of strangers. But something most don’t realise about houses, they’re alive. They hold spirit. They’re there to protect you.

The reason I bring this up today is as we all know, I share my spiritual adventures as they happen so you can apply the spirit world into your everyday life… We bought a house! Which means we’re also selling a house. Which means I have to say goodbye to a very dear friend of mine who took me in, supported me and protected me in one of the single most difficult times in my entire life. I purchased this home completely alone, as a sole income earner with a high risk job at a time in my life where I had nowhere else to go and I was absolutely scared to hell I was going to be living in my car with a dog, two cats and about 350 plants…

This house was my saviour from homelessness. It was my protector through a spiritual awakening. It’s been a sanctuary, a friend, a new beginning. The grief I have felt both times I have sold my homes is something we don’t talk about enough.

The home before this one was an ending, a provider, the home before this one ripped my entire world out from underneath me whilst simultaneously handing me the tools I needed to start my new life.

The beautiful thing.. I no longer need what I did when I purchased this home. Through aiding me in my difficult time, I have been able to create a life where I am free to move and choose. Our new home is bigger and more suitable to our life style. Our new home has room for a garden, a vegetable patch and to reinstall my greenhouse which I had to take down when I moved. Our new home has constantly flowing water in the back yard and overlooks a nature reserve. Our new home is in a location that allows me to grow our business and become more self sufficient and free.

But I still grieve saying goodbye to my dear friend here.

We need to honour our homes. Cherish them and appreciate them for what they do for us, mentally, physically and spiritually. There is a soul in this home who is so kind and nurturing, a soul who is so pure and protective. A soul who has not once allowed someone with malice to overstay their welcome and permanently cause hurt. To be grateful for all our homes do for us is to honour what it is to practise spirituality and manifestation.

I encourage you to take a moment to sit in the heart of your home, where ever that may be, and take a moment to hear it and feel it. Feel the vibrational energy within the walls, the aura of your space. Feel the foundations holding you up and the roof keeping you warm. Familiarise yourself with your home and the space you spend all of your vulnerable time.

How you can help your home serve you in it’s highest possibility.

  • Keep your home clean

  • Action all maintenance requirements

  • Study the Feng Shuai of your home

  • Bring life and joy into your home through music and candles

  • Clean your windows, by god, god and clean the windows

  • Appreciate your home

I would love for you to take some time to reflect and action some of the notes above and respond to this email with what you heard or felt from your home.

As always, keep shining.

Sarah-Louise
